Bring cream and sugar to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until it reduces slightly (about six minutes).
Pour into a medium bowl and add the chocolate, butter, vanilla and salt and let it stand, stirring occasionally until the chocolate and butter melt.
Then sit the bowl in ice water and beat the chocolate, butter, sugar vanilla mixture on medium until thick, glossy and lightened in color, about 10 minutes. Frost cake immediately and enjoy!
