Well, I’ve gone and done it now. I just recorded the audiobook for “Come On Down! A Little Story About My Italian Mom’s Big Dream.” Lucent Audio, run by my friend, Jeff Guillot is producing it! This brings me one step closer to getting the book published, at least in audiobook form, which I think/hope will be a fun listen for you. I just spent two days recording in NYC (where I did my best to look hip and fit in at the local Starbucks).
I worked with a wonderful director/audio engineer named Danielle Quisenberry Ruvolo. She owns Studio Q’d. LLC and we recorded at Edge Studio, one of her studio partners. Edge is in Times Square, so you really get a good dose of NYC. Danielle is a multi-talented editor/actor/dancer, as are so many in the arts.
Danielle made it easy and fun and it was good to be back in the booth, especially knowing it was MY story being recorded. Here’s a short video clip of me recording the book (where my hair looks way more red than #53’s photo made me think it would be. #53 still hasn’t responded to my older blog post).
And thank you to everyone who voted for St. Anthony Must have Spun the Wheel. I was torn, and did incorporate that line into the book. But I felt this one described the story just a bit better.
Mom’s Price is Right story will appear on September 23rd in HuffPost Personal but it should also appear in HuffPost Life (in the Family section) too.
And, as always (and definitely not mandatory) if you enjoy this blog and would like to be a supporter so I can stay out of horrendous debt while self-publishing, just click on buymeacoffee.com/FranTunno
For now, I thank you for following my blog. Stay tuned!

September 12, 2025 at 5:39 amOkay, I’m cracking up listening to just this 37-second clip. Hysterical! “Good story telling was considered lying” — true, but come on folks, live a little.

I am absolutely thrilled for you in what you’re accomplishing here.
(I didn’t vote, but I’m glad you chose the title you did — because I too think it fits the story best). Heartfelt congratulations!

September 9, 2025 at 11:21 pmNancy, I’d settle for just making back what I spend to create this audiobook and the print book. I sure hope I can at least do that! Thanks for the words of cheer though. I sure do appreciate them!

September 9, 2025 at 4:27 pmI hope you’re right! It was pretty cool to be there, even though I didn’t get the full NYC experience because I took Lyft to get around. Still it was fun to be in the big city.
